So it's been quite awhile since I've updated this! Baby Widener is officially a BOY! We found out right after Thanksgiving and are super excited. Carson Taylor will be here before we know it and is super excited already to meet everyone. Some days he moves around so much that I think he's trying to crawl out! As I type he's steady kicking and saying good morning to me and everyone.
This weekend we have I have my first shower. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and can't wait until Carson is actually here. . . hard to believe we've got less than 3 months to go! We're under the 90 day countdown now and tons still to do.
His room is coming along. I'll post pics once we get the crib together. It's supposed to deliver TODAY! YAY!!! Something else to look forward too! And of course Allison and Aubrey's visit! Aubrey is going to crash in Carson's room on the air mattress. JC wasn't so sure about it at first, but then I had to remind him, that other people have slept in that bedroom too.. . .Carson won't be the first. It's not like we're letting her sleep in his crib or anything! :)
More details and pictures to follow. . . I promise to do a better job of updating this more often as we get closer to the big day and as soon as Carson arrives!!!! Love you!!!

Baby Widener . . on the way!!!

So as most of you have heard, JC and I are expecting our first baby in April. We're about 13 weeks now and still totally excited. Everyday brings a new thought and a new worry about bringing a baby into the world, but knowing that he/she will be raised in a loving family calms all those fears. We have so much love and support from our friends and family that we couldn't ask for a better welcome to our child. Keep it coming. The next few months will be a little crazy around the Widener house. I'll finish this semester at school and then start my final semester at ASU and do my practicum as well. Also I'll still be teaching full time, luckily the practicum will take place during that teaching time and won't involve anything additional. Not to mention we'll be really getting ready for the baby . . . setting up the nursery, getting all the baby gear, and making sure to get plenty of rest. (I'll let you know how that "rest" part turns out!! :) JC will continue to work as hard as always, taking time off for naps (of course) and of course, for football! He's got big plans for the house and for the yard this year, in addition to getting ready for the baby......

Once upon a time . . .
HI! We're joining the online blogging community! And we're super excited to be able to share all the upcoming events of our life with all our family and friends! Life is pretty good @ the Widener's right now! It's officially college football season so we're glued to the TV every time UGA plays! (if we don't make the drive to Athens!). I'm about to start a new job! Teaching Fifth Grade @ Tobacco Road Elementary! I'm super excited and know that it will be a great place to get some experience and my foot in the door! I actually start tomorrow and can't believe that it has happened so quickly. (once the BOE finally got their stuff together!) But it means goodbye to Dan Cook Associates! Which is super sad since it's been my home and 2nd family for the last 5 years! We'll stay in touch though! No one ever REALLY leaves the Dan Cook family! JC is keeping super busy @ Augusta Ready Mix. The interstate projects are keeping them quite busy and working some odd hours! To those of you who live nearby, remember you are on boogie man patrol everytime JC has to work overnight! Check back for more updates!
